# Oscar Taylor's Apartments

> An apartment development in Malahide on precast crosswalls and precast stairs, delivered for the acoustic separation as much as the speed.

- Sector: [Residential](https://www.petruf.ie/projects/residential.md)
- Location: Malahide, Co. Dublin
- Completed: 2019
- Client: Purple Green
- Customer: Keegan Precast

A crosswall frame is an acoustic decision as much as a structural one.

The walls between apartments are the structure, so they are already thick, already dense and already continuous from floor to floor. That is the separation an apartment lives or dies on, and it comes free with the frame rather than being built back in afterwards.

Precast stairs went in with them, cast complete with their landings, so the cores were finished and usable while the blocks above were still going up.
