# About our company

> Seventeen years, more than 300 projects since 2009, one office in Newbridge.

Founded in 2009 with a focus on precast concrete. Every frame is now modelled in BIM before it is cast, so clashes are found in the model and not in the concrete.

## Who we are

PETRUF Consulting Engineers is a structural, civil and precast concrete engineering practice in Newbridge, Co. Kildare. Since 2009 the office has put its name to more than 300 projects across Ireland, for architects, main contractors, precast manufacturers, local authorities and homeowners.

Precast came first. Frank Petruf, the managing director, has spent twenty five years designing it, and the habit it taught has stuck: before anything else, ask how a frame will be cast, carried to site and stood in order. A drawing that leaves Newbridge is already arranged for the plant that will make it.

Five disciplines grew out of that: structural, civil, precast, 3D modelling, and consulting and compliance. One room holds all of them. Foundations come off the same model as the frame they carry, and nobody sets out a drainage run without knowing where the pads sit.

Two eleven storey blocks on Horgan's Quay in Cork. A hotel at Dublin Airport, another on Liffey Street. A school in Carraroe, the control building for the Siemens Greenlink interconnector at Great Island, the Seatown Lane and Lissenhall bridges in Swords, and the Kerry Central water scheme, named Engineering Project of the Year at the Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards 2018. Housing, hotels, schools, healthcare, industry and infrastructure, all drawn in the same office.

Signatures carry weight here. Two engineers hold the Chartered Engineer title and three belong to Engineers Ireland, which is what lets the practice act as design certifier and sign Ancillary Certificates under the Building Control Regulations. Whoever designs an element signs for it, under an appointment backed by professional indemnity insurance.

Newbridge sits within ninety minutes of most of the country. Kerry, Galway, Meath, Wexford: if the site is in Ireland, it is within reach.

### PETRUF is a founding member of MMC Ireland, the industry body for modern methods of construction in Irish building

Nothing is sent out to be drawn. Models, calculations and drawings are made in the office, in Allplan, SCIA Engineer and AutoCAD, and every frame exists as a model before a single element of it is cast.

## We are a dedicated team of engineers based in Newbridge

### Frank Petruf

Managing Director, Ing CEng MIEI

Twenty five years in precast concrete design. Sets the strategy, sits over the structural team, and is on most of the projects that turn on how a frame is put together.

### Wojciech Prus

Head of Civil Engineering, MSc Eng CEng MIEI

Twenty one years across commercial, industrial, transport, retail, residential and mixed use schemes. Runs the civil design and the analysis behind it.

### Peter Pilarcik

Structural Engineer, Ing MIEI

Designs and details in concrete, steel and timber, with the façade and precast coordination that goes with them. Works in Allplan and SCIA Engineer, and on site when a tolerance has to be argued out.

### Jaroslav Vomacka

Structural Technician, Ing

Produces the construction drawings in AutoCAD and Allplan, and keeps several projects moving at once without letting an issue date slip.

## Where we are
